Feedback on the consultation of the intellectual disability community

The entire team of the Quebec Intellectual Disability Society and its Board of Directors would like to thank everyone who contributed to the community consultation in order to update the Society’s positions and demands. The Society would also like to thank the Mirella and Lino Saputo Foundation for its financial support, which has facilitated the organization of the consultation.

Hundreds of you responded to the surveys and participated in the Zoom discussion meetings. The Society is pleased to have been able to create this important space for dialogue.

The rich and dynamic discussions that we have had collectively will allow us to advance the positions and demands of the Society – and of the entire intellectual disability community – in order to aim for the real inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities. The cause is stronger for it.

The Society’s team thanks you for your participation and looks forward to continuing to work with all the different players in the field!

The goal is to find out how to do better for the next consultation as well as to set up possible working committees within the Society.

Follow-up to the consultation

Finally, the Society’s team is in the process of compiling the data from the surveys as well as the notes from the discussion sessions. The updating of the positions and requests will be done throughout the month of June and July.

The circulation to Society members will be done towards the end of July with a feedback period through the end of August.
